Peter focuses his energies on developing personal relationships and helps individual clients preserve and protect their most valuable assets.

He works closely with senior management teams of healthcare-related organizations, not for profits, and closely held businesses to develop and implement innovative strategies to control healthcare costs and provide customized employee benefit solutions which enhance employee recruitment, retention, and productivity.

Prior to joining The Bensman Group in April 2009, Peter began his financial services career in 2000 with JR Katz, a National Financial Partners insurance and benefits firm. He brings nearly 30 years of experience in the healthcare field, having served in a senior executive capacity in three community hospitals, most recently as the Executive Vice President/COO of Highland Park Hospital (IL) from 1984 until mid-2000.

Masters of Science in Health Administration – University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (Denver, Colorado)

Peter holds the following licenses: Life and Health, Property and Casualty, Series 6 Investment Co./Variable Contract Representative, and Series 63 Uniform Securities Agent State Law.

Industry and Community
Peter has been very active in his professional organization, and is a Life Fellow of The American College of Healthcare Executives (LFACHE). In addition to serving on and chairing a variety of ACHE committees, he served as the Regent for Northern Illinois from 1992 to 1997.

Peter has been a prolific speaker and writer on a variety of topics including retirement planning, understanding and controlling benefit costs, freestanding emergency centers and physician/hospital integration.

He is an active member of the Marketing Committee of CJE Senior Services which helps meet comprehensive needs of the Chicago area’s elderly population. He serves in a leadership role with Victories of the Heart, a not for profit men’s organization that is dedicated to providing growth and development for men over 50.

Personal
Peter and his wife Margie reside in Deerfield, Illinois and have three daughters, three sons-in-law, and five grandchildren. He enjoys participating in most sports, gardening, and family activities.
